As Chiropractors we are dedicated to providing precise, sophisticated and thoughtful analysis along with the finest approaches in manual medicine to align body and spirit.
Chiropractic is a natural form of healthcare that uses spinal adjustments to correct misalignments and restore proper function to the nervous system; chiropractic helps your body heal naturally. Chiropractic doesn't use drugs or surgery, rather, a chiropractic spinal adjustment—the application of a precise force to a specific part of the spinal segment—corrects the misalignment. This permits normal nerve transmission and assists your body to recuperate on its own. The goal is to increase the range of motion, decrease nerve irritation, and improve function. There are many methods of performing an adjustment, for example, with evidence-based diversified techniques. Adjustments can be performed precisely with the hands or adjusting instruments.
Seeing is believing and seeing is knowing. X-rays help provide a definitive diagnosis. It allow us to evaluate patients accurately in determining the origin of their problems. Without X-rays, a Chiropractor would not have all of the information needed to effectively make the lifelong corrections to your spine. Only necessary X-ray views will be taken, thus decreasing unnecessary X-ray exposure. X-rays are highly recommended for these cases: if the patient has sustained a significant traumatic injury such as a bone fracture or a dislocated joint, if any significant disease is suspected such as cancer or a possible tumor, or if the patient has had long-standing pain that has not been resolved with previous health care treatments.
Laser therapy is completely painless. Your skin will not burn leaving no pain response. Benefits of laser therapy include pain relief, increased energy production, increased white blood cells, increased nerve healing, and increased circulation. There are many conditions that can be treated successfully with laser therapy. Common conditions are: slipped disc, frozen shoulder, carpal tunnel, tennis elbow, TMJ or jaw pains, arthritic conditions, knee pain, and plantar fascistic. This unique therapy can be combined with Chiropractic care to substitute for some cases of surgery. Laser therapy can be used during pre-surgery and post-surgery treatment to accelerate healing, which is also used for long-term pain management system acute injury treatment. Laser therapy has been adopted as an essential pain management tool by team doctors in the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, FIFA and Olympic teams.
Instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization
IASTM is form of tissue mobilization that enables clinicians to effectively detect and treat scar tissue and restrictions that affect normal function. Once the injury is detected the instrument is used to deliver a controlled microtrauma to the affected area. IASTM helps correct the adhesions and scar tissue that form from injury, and inflammation that occurs during injuries, surgeries, overuse, and underuse conditions. It is used for all types of muscle and tendon injuries. The goal of therapy is to break down collagen cross-links and to allow the stretching of connective tissue and muscle fibers. IASTM has also been shown to increase the rate and amount of blood flow to and from an area, increase cellular activity in the region, alter spinal reflex activity and facilitate reflex changes in chronic muscle holding patterns.
Myofascial Release Technique
What is a myofascial adhesion? Myofascial adhesion, also known as a trigger point or muscle knot, is an abnormally thick fibrous tissue that is created over time. People can get trigger points in any muscle of the body. Causes of adhesions are poor posture, overuse (repetitive motion injury), and acute injury. If left untreated they can become chronic.
MRT is a soft tissue system movement based technique that is used to treat problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, and nerves. Often when there are adhesions or scar tissue in the muscles due to damage over time, the muscles will become shorter and weaker leading to altered motion of the joints and muscles, thus causing nerves to become irritated. The goal of MRT is to restore the smooth movement of the tissues and restore the function of any compressed nerves. MRT is the active motion, directed pressure, and specificity of treatment of the muscle that allows the practitioner to break up the adhesions. Each treatment only takes a few passes over the structure, and accomplishes greater results in a shorter amount of time than other soft tissue therapies.
Conditions such as headaches, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, shoulder pain, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, knee problems, and tennis elbow are just a few of the many conditions that are often resolved with MRT therapy.
Kinesio Tape was created and developed by Chiropractor Dr. Kenzo Kase in 1973. It is currently being used by practitioners to change muscle tone, move lymphatic fluids, correct movement patterns, and improve posture. Dr. Nguyen specifically uses RockTape., created to endure extreme conditions. How does it work? Rocktape microscopically lifts the skin away from the muscle and fascia, which decompresses the area which reduces swelling. RockTape also signals the central nervous system through the skin's nerves, which provides powerful feedback to minimize pain and cue form.
What are the benefits?
Rocktape turns minimizes the volume on pain, relieves swelling by creating more space for congested and compressed capillaries, lymph vessels, arteries and veins
Rocktape increases blood flow delays fatigue, speeding up recovery and enabling you to go stronger, longer.
- Rocktape increases awareness of your body position to help maintain proper posture and form.
